This Japanese yarn's sophisticated, multicoloured shading reflects its namesake, Uchiwa うちわ (pronounced: Ujiwa). In Japanese culture, Uchiwa is a leaf-shaped fan or leaf fan, literally translating to "repelling mosquitoes with a leaf fan". In the hot Japanese summers, uchiwa fans are essential to quickly fan yourself with some refreshing air.
